Grigol Liluashvili, the chief of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) has said that the Georgian side could not get evidence from the State Department about US-sanctioned Otar Fartskhaladze.

"On September 14, the United States imposed sanctions against Georgian-Russian oligarch Otar Partskhaladze, who was working with the FSB to influence Georgian society and politics for the benefit of Russia. He was designated pursuant to Executive Order 14024, which authorizes sanctions with respect to specified harmful foreign activities of the Government of the Russian Federation.

As a general matter, U.S. officials regularly engage with Allies and partners, including in person, around the world to share information to uphold the existing sanctions regime, to close loopholes where they may exist, and to work together to identify potential additional targets that we can pursue against Russia to promote accountability and hamper its aggression against Ukraine," a spokesperson for the United States Department of State told the Accent.

More context: On October 19 Grigol Liluashvili spoke about former Prosecutor General Otar Patrskhaladze.

"We could not get any evidence regarding US-sanctioned Otar Partskhaladze. Although a request was sent to the U.S. Department of State, we did not receive any details, on the contrary, everyone is asking us for details. According to several media outlets, if the American special services and our partners had information, it seems that they do not trust the Georgian special services and therefore did not provide it. I would like to tell you that within the framework of very close and fruitful cooperation between our services, much more sensitive and highly effective secret information is exchanged on a daily basis and our cooperation is exemplary," Grigol Liluashvili, the chief of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) told reporters on October 19.
