One of the leaders of the Georgian parliamentary majority, Shalva Papuashvili said on Monday that a prevention of disobedience is not violence.

“Unfortunately, due to the behavior of the opposition, we had to combine the function of a bailiff yesterday and no one is happy about it. The United National Movement wants to establish bad behavior, which we have seen in the last few sittings, as a tradition. It is important that it cannot be established in the parliament. Everyone, regardless of gender, should respect the basic rules of the highest representative body of the country. There is no place for hysteria and performances in the parliament. Rushing to the Speaker of Parliament and wrestling with two bailiffs was violence and stopping this rushing, wrestling and disobedience is not violence”, - Papuashvili told the Interpressnews.

The protest of the opposition at the beginning of the speech of the Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri in the Parliament yesterday was followed by a verbal confrontation between members of the parliamentary majority and opposition. One of the leaders of the United National Movement Tina Bokuchava tried to climb the seat of the Speaker of the Parliament, but MP Shalva Papuashvili picked her up and pulled her out of the seat. This incident was followed by a verbal argument between Bokuchava and Papuashvili.
