A 10-year-old child's body has been discovered under the rubble of a residential building in Kharkiv following Russian strikes on the northeastern city Friday, Ukrainian officials said.

In an update, Kharkiv region military administration chief Oleh Syniehubov said at least 16 others were injured in the attacks, included an 11-month-old baby.

The strikes were "aimed exclusively at the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv," the city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, said in a Telegram post.

It comes a day after Moscow’s forces targeted the nearby village of Hroza, killing at least 51 people, including a 6-year-old boy, in one of the deadliest attacks against civilians since the war began.
