Georgian Dream chair Irakli Kobakhidze has responded to the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and noted that "one year ago, a great tragedy befell Ukraine, which the Ukrainian people did not deserve!"

"As a result of the war, tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians died, including more than 450 children, which is the most painfull. 16 million Ukrainians became refugees and displaced persons. The war destroyed Ukraine's economy and infrastructure. Before the start of the war, we had said that the international community should do everything to prevent this war and avoid the greatest tragedy. However, unfortunately, Russian military aggression still took place. Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers are heroically fighting for the independence and territorial integrity of their country! I bow before their heroism and dedication! I wish our friendly Ukrainian people independence and restoration of territorial integrity! Слава України!" Kobakhidze said in a Facebook post.

It has now been a year since the world witnessed Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of people, the destruction of many cities, and forced millions of Ukrainians to become refugees.
