Former special advisor to the Secretary of State, American analyst Paul Goble said that Georgia is doing all the right things regarding the issue of Ukraine so far.

"I hope it keeps that up," he told the Accent.

The Georgian diplomatic missions in Ukraine continue to work in the state of emergency.

"Tbilisi recognizes as some other countries don’t that it is necessary to show the flag in order to inspire confidence even as the risk to one’s own diplomats," Goble said.

As for the fact that Georgia was among 42 nations to support the suspension Russian Federation representative rights in the Council of Europe, Goble said:

"Russia should have been expelled from the Council of Europe in 2008 if not during the brutal wars in Chechnya. Georgia is being consistent."

Ukrainian forces have been battling Russian invaders since 24 February.
