The Head of the State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia Grigol Liluashvili has met with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Security and Intelligence David Cattler in Tbilisi.

"The meeting at subject is part of regular consultations between Allied officials and their counterparts, including from partner countries," NATO told the Accent on Wednesday.

According to the State Security Service, the issues of cooperation between the State Security Service and NATO were discussed at the meeting.

"The sides also discussed the ongoing difficult processes in Ukraine and assessed its impact on the security environment in Europe and Georgia. The situation in the occupied territories of Georgia was also discussed at the meeting. The head of the State Security Service briefed the NATO Assistant Secretary General on the threats and challenges in the region," the State Security Service said in a press release.
