Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has said that Poland is an outstanding friend and partner of Georgia.

"We have strategic cooperation and close relations in a number of areas. We are successfully cooperating in both bilateral and multilateral formats and are interested, motivated to further expand our relations," PM Garibashvili said at a joint press conference with Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Batumi.

According to him, Georgia appreciates Poland's strong support for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"There are many examples of solidarity and mutual support in the fight for freedom in the common history of our peoples. Georgia and Poland have always stood side by side in difficult moments. We, Georgians, will never forget the heroic behavior of President Lech Kaczynski when he arrived in Tbilisi with European leaders in August 2008, when we had a large-scale war with the Russian Federation and he stood by our people. He personally brought European leaders to Tbilisi to stand by our people. Every Georgian appreciates this very much, we remember it and we are grateful for it," said Irakli Garibashvili.
