Garibashvili and Gantz discuss situation in occupied territories of Georgia and security environment in region

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has met the Vice Prime Minister of Israel, Minister of Defense Benjamin Gantz within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.

According to the Georgian PM's office, the partnership between the two countries was discussed at the meeting.

It was noted that 2022 is a jubilee year for bilateral relations between the two countries, as 30 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Israel.

Garibashvili and Gantz stated that the two countries have an exemplary and strong relationship, which is based on the common values of democracy and human rights and provides a solid basis for further development of the partnership.

The situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and the security environment in the region were discussed at the meeting. Benjamin Gantz reaffirmed Israel's strong support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani; Minister of Defense Juansher Burchuladze and the head of the government administration Ilia Darchiashvili.
