“The message is very simple, if the European Union is unable to reach a consensus on how to impose individual sanctions on those people who are guilty of Georgia’s democratic regression and change of orientation, this does not mean that Georgian citizens should be punished. Dream has actually hidden behind the backs of Georgian citizens and is trying with the help of various states not to impose personal financial sanctions on them. Everything will become clear soon, when the final decisions of this Council are made public. I hope that Georgian citizens will demand that the government make public what kind of letter it received from the European Commission, what terms and conditions are being discussed. Our goal is to protect what we have achieved in recent years and what the citizens of Georgia have received, unlike the Georgian Dream. It would be very convenient for the Georgian Dream if visa-free travel for Georgian citizens is suspended. Do you remember Ivanishvili’s famous phrase - “The borders were opened, people saw what life is like, and then they wanted a good, normal life for themselves, and then they demanded the same from us here.” They themselves are ready to do everything to protect the stolen money - they shoot at each other and have bloody street fights. Today we have an anti-national, anti-state government that is destroying everything we have done over the past 20 years to bring us closer to Europe. The country has been driven by money for the past 2 months," Giorgi Gakharia said.

As for the local elections and the signing of the memorandum with Lelo - Strong Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia calls this an important step in terms of cooperation. According to him, it is important that Lelo - Strong Georgia and Gakharia - for Georgia are not competitors in the elections.
